Jacques Goes Home. . .

The Black Void - Episode 63

Still shaken by his trip through the void, checking his own home seems to be the most appealing option to Jacques. He parks his boat at his personal dock, rushes up to the back door, inserts his key, and twists. Or tries to twist. The key doesn't work for some reason, as if someone has changed the locks. He knocks on the door. "He- Hello? Honey? Jean? Paul? Dad's home." No answer.

Never one to admit defeat, Jacques goes around to the front door and madly rings the doorbell. Still no answer. Cursing, Jacques slumps down onto the ground. That's when he notices the broken glass.

Standing up and wiping off his bottom, Jacques sees for the first time that one of the windows next to the front door has been smashed outwards. That's odd, he thinks, as if someone desperately wanted to get out. He glances inside. It is completely dark. He ponders what he should now do.

  1. Should he visit one of the neighbours and ask for help?
  2. Should he climb into the broken window and investigate?
