Fred pulled his sword out of its hardy leather scabbard and raised it.
It was a powerful sword made by the best smith in the Kingdom. Forged of
cold iron it was long and heavy and very sharp. Fred had fought many
battles with it and it had never let him down.
THWACK Fred swung with all his might at the ice and grinned as it shattered into a million sparkling shards. And then, gouging out a hole in the wounded glacier, Fred uncovered the thing that lay encased within the small mountain of frozen ice. To Fred's surprise, it was a man. Or, rather, something that looked like a man.
