It's academic?

Not needing to hear anymore, Fred acts!

"RUN FOR THE WATER!!" Fred screams. Happily, Fred sees that Alicia is only a step behind him. Both dive into the waves, and swim swiftly away as the human hunters swear and try to peg them with arrows.

As soon as the foxes are out of sight, a darkly handsome man steps out from the shadow, and hands the lead huntsman a bag of gold.

"Congratulations on a job well done." The cloaked figure says as the huntsmen gather around.

"Glad to be of service, gov," a puzzled hunter says. "But why exactly did you want us to do that?"

"Let's just call it an academic lesson and leave it at that." The dark man smiles.

The foxes swim to a spot several miles away and come to the conclusion that they must be careful. Apparently fox fur is a valuable commodity....especially the antrhopomorphic kind!

Vowing to be wary of future human encounters before the Southern Caverns, the foxes scamper off into the night....after shaking themselves dry, that is.

1. Soon, they come upon an animal trapped in a snare. It's a mundane fox. Fred and Alicia's hearts are strangely moved to pity the little things feeble struggles......
2. They encounter the dragon.
