Reika In the end, we shall not know exactly what happened. The one participant in whatever spat that had proceeded that scream was upon us, stone faced and carrying that container (who’s contents Rei says is VERY important) and vanished into thin air before she could say one THING about what had happened. Not to say that she’d been breathing heavily when she had rushed IN on us and halts, staring at us in surprise. And jumping in surprise as the entrance behind her collapses, sealing the way back the way she had come. "Rei-chan?" I blink, coming up to her. “How are you here?!” But child Rei cannot tell us what had happened. At least not in great detail. Says that there was this big, scary lizard who'd been looking over her new brother's egg (?!) when a loud flash and bang hit the lizard, causing it a big hurt and screaming. She'd grabbed the egg as the dragon had thrashed about in agony from her wounds (judging from the what I take as dragon's blood all over Rei-chan here, it's black as tar but smells like blood) and rushed HERE. . . . Looks like Chaos energy strikes again. Sigh. Okay, let us take some stock here. Rei-chan (our nickname for the four year old child who calls herself "Rei Ayanami" or what we call "Rei I") somehow got herself transported her by the Chaos Energy who she's a font of. Same Chaos energy seemed to have caused some kind of surge that injured the owner of the egg that Rei-chan's clutching. Injured it and then knocking it for a loop. Unconscious the dragon now was to where a young, displaced girl could just scoop up the egg and rush off… THEN, as an act of “deus ex machina” causing the passageway behind the rushing girl to collapse, closing off an easily followed trail for the dragon female to find us? Would explain things… Perhaps has somehow bewitched Rei-chan into believing that the contents of said egg is a long lost male sibling? She looks, besides frightened at suddenly having ended up here, appear to be very protective of this dragon egg she's suddenly come into possession of here! "Rei-chan," Rei says softly, squatting down and looking her in the eyes. "We'll . . .take care of the egg here but right now we ALL need to get OUT of here as quickly as possible!" A lair of a dragon is NO place for a young, defenseless girl! And a girl this one before us is. The one we'd lef behind back in Tokyo-3 to avoid having TWO Chaos Energy fonts in the same place! Tricorder readings show us she's the real deal and not some kind of illusion... We shall protect HER now as we protect Tabris: with our lives. On the positive side it appears that my Quest shall be done sooner than planned once we (IF we) manage to get to our destination. However, I just shudder to think what kind of mayhem TWO fonts of Chaos Energy shall unleash upon this world and those around US! I just hope we can raise the others on our communicator back in Tokyo-3 after we leave whatever is interfering with communications. Can't raise anything but static right now with it... Moments later... One does not leave helpless children alone and helpless in such a place as this cavern!! Even IF they are courting disaster by doing such such a thing. They're rushing things, dressing and all but . . .the clock is still ticking. Oh, they might be tempted on leaving behind the egg (for surely the dragoness will want it back), but . . . Rei-chan is so attached to it that such thoughts die before they reach the lips to be uttered. In other words, most of them don't have the heart to break the child away from the egg. Whatever the G-man's take on this is left unsaid. Apparently he doesn't feel like sharing it, knowing it would only lead to trouble and strife amongst his compatriots. He's not going to throw good money after bad here. . . . Still, Rei-chan and a dragonet now are going to be siblings? Something effected Rei-chan's heart but did it also effect the unborn dragon here? All are wondering about that when it appears Fate decides to give an answer! It happens while “So . . .you’re saying that at least one of those unborn bea . . .er . . .dragon hatchlings is a transformed relative of yours? Well . . .then I can well understand why the little one's so attached to that monster egg,” Astra says while struggling with the bra she'd been given. Never having seen one before until now, she's at something of a loss over it until the others explain it's purpose. "One does not abandon family," Rei says softly, opting on discretion here in revealing facts. Something about this egg business is even ODDER than at first glance would suggest. If little Rei-chan has decided on having a dragon as a brother, Rei smiles to herself. Then so be it But ONLY if the little creature is not hostile to everyone once it hatches. We don't want her new "brother" to kill her, you know! Still . . .dragon hatchlings--while not as helpless--are so malleable in their thinking process and character upon birth. Trusting... At least the one's back on Terra Prime. Rei believes that it could work and the dragonet and Rei-chan could indeed become brother and sister. But best keep a weather on the egg would be a good idea, all the same. Astra nods, and silently resumes getting dressed only to pause soon again as she watches the spectacle of whatever ministrations that odd female elfin is doing on "Eve" over yonder. Why a "medical exam" with a unconscious dragon almost a stone's throw away seemed to be stupidly rash until Ritsuko had tersely stated that if Eve was somehow injured and keeled over dead due to something easily prevented then it would be a crime! "Not on my watch," Dr. Ritsuko Akagi had sworn, having made a promise to herself about . . .living up to her Oath as a doctor and healer. Such things had been left bent and broken too long whilst working for NERV and the Evangelions. Oh, for the greater good and all that she'd told herself. Had believed in Gendo's reasons and all but no MORE!! Still, while Astra understood now why she had to wonder what is that deal with that odd magical light she's shining in Eve's eyes? "Pupil's are normal," Ritsuko mutters to herself, wishing that she could just use a tricorder and be done with it. However, THOSE things were being used as 'earl warning' detectors by the others (to keep unwanted company from popping in on them), so the old fashion means were what was available to her, alas. "Evenly dialated and no signs of head trauma. Whatever is wrong with you must be magical in nature because I can't figure it out." "Well . . .'tank you' all the same for trying," Eve says, blinking. "'Thank you," Ritsuko absentmindedly corrects the young woman whilst putting away her gear. "You're 'el-come!" Eve chirps, causing Ritsuko to groan and shake her head. victim of an unwitting comedy skit. Chuckling slightly Astra looks back at Astra, who's speaking. Taking up again the conversation thread they'd had while she'd been dressing and gotten sidetracked. “Well . . .I understand why you won't untransform the egg right now,” Astra finishes, after muttering something about wishing for a sword. She frankly would feel better naked and armed than clothed and unarmed. "Take too long and all that, I suppose. Not a mage so I cannot gainsay you on that..." Nice to see that Astra now trusted the Champions enough to throw her lot in with them... “Well . . .if you can get us out of here safe I shall gladly loan whatever materials and manpower needed for it,” Astra finally says, coming to a decision abruptly. “My nation's not as phobic about magic and magery as SOME neighbors I could mention so you shan't want for that! Point in fact, I would instruct my court mage to see to helping you.” Ah . . .I believe that I see approval in Astra’s eyes, Rei smiles to herself The Astras of the Astra Thessamer clan of Terra Prime are knonw to revere life (from the aged to the unborn I am told). That and bond of family matter to her. . . . I approve and that’ll help Rei immensely, Rei thinks to herslef,
happy at the turn of events. Can see she does want to put thing to right
here . . .if she can. Every little bit of luck could only help and she'll take help from sources like this, most welcomely! That and having lived in a cold, unlovely existence for so long she knew the value of love and friendship better than most and wouldn't throw such things away easily... “Thanks. Now, I . . .would properly thank you but right now we should get out of here,” Lilith adds to the side. “Will bet that that scream brings unwanted company here sooner or later. We've probably pushed our luck as it is taking time getting dressed.” Yes, a lot of things going on in the rush of things... "Thank you," Rei-chan simply says softly, looking up at Astra, adding her two cents on the matter. Smiling as well, Astra then blinks as a cracking sound comes from the egg that the young girl carries. Putting down the egg quickly, Astra-chan steps back a bit and watches happily as her "brother" breaks out of his egg and stares around, confused. Blinking a few times, the dragonet male suddenly grins and "gleeps" happily at the sight before him! Alien emotions seep into his heart and ignite it within, taking up permanent residence. He LIKES the feelings he feels and wishes to keep them forever and ever and ever!! Things like "love" and "family" are alien concepts to a dragon of this world, the closest things that would be “business transactions” and “alliance/couplings of convenience” would be a better match for them when it comes to matters of the heart and procreation. However, the hatchling no longer is a “normal” specimen of his species. See, the Chaos Energy that wraps around the dragon's psyche has completed it's task. The winged women before him and the young, blue haired human girl before her are NOT his next meal! They’re . . .his kin. Broodmates. Family!! “Where momma?” the hatchling then blinks, looking around. An image forms in his infantile mind. Not of the one who laid his egg, but of another human appearing one… |
