“Uh
. .. Don’t mind us we were just passing through?” Tabris says in a slightly
droll voice from the corner he'd been quickly sheparded into while the others
took up something of a defensive ring about him. Honestly, the former 17th NGE angel was more than slightly put off by his compatriots concerns. However, he could well understand. It is just that he is feeling somewhat henpecked right now, planetary populations future hanging on his well being or no! "Area clear," Rei says softly, gesturing to the others after a quick glance at her tricorder. "That's good," Astra says after a few seconds of silence, staring at these strangers who have appeared out of thin air. "Mind telling me and . . . my associate here who you are and such?" Might as well and be polite and all that, Astra thinks to herself in morbid humor. After all, while I shall bet they are somehow associated with the Dragon, at least I can have the "pleasure" of learning who my newest jail keepers are... "Well . . .once upon a time there was this young woman who piloted a 40 foot tall mecha/cyborg called Unit 00..." Rei begins, drawing some rather ODD looks from the two naked women before her... . . . No, actually telling them THAT was the furthest thing on Rei's and everyone else's mind. First, it would take WAY too long to explain it all. Second, most likely Astra and the other naked woman here wouldn’t believe them. So Rei opts on not making sarcastic (and uncalled for) comments in way of answer. Instead, she simply gives her and her comrades’ names. However, for any readers who are interested… Pardon if it doesn’t go overly into fine details, but some detail is better than nothing at all. Rei and her friends and associates here have been forced together through circumstance and odd luck into working together. The Champions of the Rules and Agents (FAQ at http://www .geocitie s.com/rule 179/QA .htm) are right now on a Quest which will settle some kind of dispute between Them and a trollish godlike entity called an Author from some otherworldly/hellish place called Game 3. The Champions have been tapped to settle this dispute in a relatively peaceful (non-reality shattering) manner. Rei Ayanami Quatermain (http://www .geocities .com/rule 179/Character Bios/Rei.htm) is the leader of this odd party. She is the default “Elder” Champion taking her sisters (Newly inducted Champions themselves) under her wing (as it were) during their Validation Quest . . . . Author‘s note: if interested a “Validation Quest” is just a right of passage for all newly inducted ones must take when they become Champions. Win or lose, they are still Champions but the Validation is still needed. Pro forma as it were. . . , with most OTHER Celestrial Champions. Not so for Rules and Agent Champions. Life ain‘t fair… There is Reika Ayanami Quatermain (http://www. geocities. com/rule179/ CharacterBios/ Lilith.htm). She is (of course) sister to Rei and one of the two new Inductee Champions. There is Lilith Ayanami Quatermain (http://www .geocities. com/rule179/ CharacterBio s/Lilith.htm# Lilith). She is Rei’s other sister and also this is her Validation Quest as well as Reika’s… Then there are the non-Champions. Dr. Ritsuko Akagi is very much like her Neon Genesis Evangelion (http://en. Wikipedia .org/wik i/Ritsuko _Akagi) except that it was revealed to her that Gendo Akari was only using her so she turned evidence on him (partly in revenge and partly to help reduce the sentence she would eventually have faced otherwise). Got roped into being part of Rei’s group as some form of “community service” by UN officials to help atone for her crimes (and in the hopes that she would get KILLED in the Quest to avoid needless headaches later on). Thus far, stuff has been happening to her . . .including not only becoming a natural blonde . . .but unexpectedly having been mystically transformed into an elfin woman! Due to exposure to some Chaos energy (more on that in a moment). The G-man (http://en .wikipedia. org/wiki/ G-Man_ %28Half -Life%29) is working along with the others only after the others had secured his trust (and vice versa) through the most extreme of magical means: a contract signed in the blood of all involved! Oh, it was a secularized contract (no immortal souls involved) but would be very painful for any signed participants trying to break the contract, shall we say! The G-man has his own set of morals and ethics, but they are . . . A bit non-human at best. Enlightened but . . .more enlightened ala “self interest enlightened”. In other words, his and his people’s (those who had somehow survived the “Great Machine” incident ala “Forbidden Planet”) would be advanced by the payoff his aid would garner… Aid against the Combine (http://en .wikipedia .org/wiki /The_Combine). Of all this group, the G-man is the most cold blooded and amoral (by human standards). However, for the greater good he’s thrown in his lot with this bunch and is taking orders from Rei (after finding out Rei wasn’t to be dominated by him or his machinations). Honestly, if given the choice the others would have given second (and third) thoughts about joining forces with the G-man but . . .circumstances aren’t as they’d like them. Helping him (and vice versa) is the lesser of two evils, shall we say… Finally, we have the one young seeming man who calls himself Tabris (http://en. wikipedia. org/wiki /Kaworu _Nagisa). Like Rei, Tabris went through a sea change due to a VERY unexpected encounter. In his case, it was with a warrior angel who in life had called herself Astra Thessamer. The results of the encounter not only removed all traces of NGE angellic DNA from the young man, but pretty much beat out all delusions of “divinity” or being “divine” in nature. Basically, he saw that he and the other NGE Angels had NOTHING on what he termed “the real thing”. Got teleported into the Military reality and joined up with the Military during the Enemy/Alliance War. Became a space jet fighter pilot and also married a young woman who seemed to have a devotion to the anime character Nadia. That devotion seemed to have gone to extremes to where she had herself biosculpted to appear as the woman. Turns out that Nadia actually had a similar encounter with Astra the angel, but that’s another tale. Is VERY devote to his wife and can get VERY upset (and even violent) if anyone besmirches his wife OR Astra the Angel’s honor. Yes, a very devout husband indeed…and a long time one at that! He’d been a prospective grandfather when he’d been unexpectedly sucked back to his old world and youthened back to a fifteen year old boy to partake in this . . . .harebrained adventure. Also is one of the two unwilling “fonts of Chaos Energy” who must be delivered, safe and sound, to a certain central location within a vast interstellar teleportation network (the Iconian network ala Star Trek: TNG) in order to bring this Quest to and end and stop the flow of Chaos energy. Energy which has the ability to do . . .anything to anything and anyone ala Game 3 ( http://www. addventure. com/cgi-bin/ faq.phtml /addventure /game3/ episode/) As for why they are all here? Well, this is where they’d landed following the Iconian Network! And somewhere out there, outside the Northern (or Southern depending on your kingdom of origin) lay their next gateway off this world and onto their final destination! As for who the naked ladies are? The redhead is named Astra Thessamer. She is an Amazonian warrior princess from the kingdom of Aqualaria of this world who’d been unfortunate enough to be captured by the Dragon’s henchmen. She’s unaware of the death of said dragon, or the fact that the Dragon had a mate (who’s running about and making a mess of things). As for the other naked woman? Well, she appears to be suffering from amnesia (but it’s a bit more involved than that, re: 41888). If nothing else, some around her have to wonder what gives with this woman. Rei is more than a bit . . .standoffish with anyone with obvious signs of being a witch, though there are things about that third nipple that are decidedly OFF. As if . . .the owner of said witchsign had not "joined" willingly. Maybe that Bond could be broken, sparing Rei from . . .following that age old addage of "not suffering a witch to live. There are good and valid reasons for that trite saying... Soon however, after answering Astra’s question (and further questions in saying that they were not allied with any Dragons of the Southern/Northern Caverns) and adding weight to her words by freeing the princess, things get interrupted. A loud, whooshing explosion is followed quickly by a inhuman, pain filled scream of agony that will bounce again and again from one end of the caverns to another. |
