Are you Fahrbot?

The Never Ending Quest - Episode 40912

Inquirer

And yes, there was much screaming and cursing....and fear. Especially when those "It" infected Grudeks decided to show their true selves, really making things messy! If nothing else, that speaks rather well for our case! Oh, the monsters don't like those spray and pray plasma weapons that the now panicking Grudeks unloads upon them, but alas those who are infected proved to be made of sterner stuff than that.

Honestly, one would either need either a flamethrower or a beamweapon like a phaser set on HEAVY stun (or disintegrate) to handle one, let alone a whole pack of them! Now, with wide spread stun we manage to mop up quickly, but we also need to clean up this mess!

We, after having determined that none present here are what we are after, disintegrate the "It" monsters and wake up our unwelcome guests. We retreat to a more defensible (relatively) position. Command and wake up the surviving Grudek.

After we disarm them, of course. Even idiots like these are so much more . . . . reasonable when they're that way!

Or perhaps....not...

....

Creator, give me strength....

"We can depart in our own vessel after we harvest this one and....," Igloc begins, being....

Sikozu

"Contact your ship," Inquirer says in a cold voice. "Go on, try. Don't believe what you see outside the front window there. Evidence enough to show you that this is NOT the Leviathan burial space. Go on, contact them! Do it. Do it NOW!"

The last is delivered at a roar, despite the fact that this strange woman's face appears to be utterly calm (if only hiding barely the distain I see in her eyes for this . . . this.....)

This utter, pathetic fool.... He tries to contact his ship. Tries to contact the other Grudek back in the Pilot's Den. Tries to contact ANYONE besides those within Command.

Nothing. And it's no bluff, this. This Leviathan is still too out of it by the electric shock sent throughout it's hull to manage that. Doubt very strongly that the old Pilot is able to do anything like cyber manipulation, showing a false starfield outside. How the frell did that happen?!

.....

Wormholes?....

"I'm afraid that they've been assimilated and are no longer anything you will find friendly, Grudek." Inquirer says in a low voice at the ashen Ilkoc. "Do what we say and you shall at least get out of this alive. Frell with us and I promise you that you're on your own, with those things aboard here still...."

Well . . . that makes enough sense. Why have an enemy at your own back?

Frell, I just don't know her enough to be able to judge! Whatever the case it's enough to cow all the remaining Grudek (and bring some appalled looks from her companions). Whatever the case, even the most stubborn can now see that she and her friends are the only one able to detect these aliens with these . . . . tricorders. I'm at a loss at how else they'd be detected. They looked normal just up until it pounces on you and....consumes you and leaves an exact duplicate behind....

....

Sigh, I fear I must face it. Somehow these friends of Crichton (or John, as the others are calling him right now to differentiate him from his twin) have not only gained the upper hand but . . . are being truthful enough about this . . . . alien. Bottom line, this entire mission is frelled up beyond salvage and I shall have to find some other way to redeem my good name.

Frell!

....These aliens...

Makes intella-viruses look pleasant by comparison. I have never come across mention of ANYTHING like it in all my studies before or DURING my time becoming expert on Leviathans.

Frell, it makes the SCARANS look pleasant by comparison and I'm Kalish. We HATE the Scarans and....

"I need to tap your experience," Inquirer suddenly says after Ilkog slinks away to a corner with his surviving crew.

The sudden change in her demeanor is . . . startling. Almost as if that outburst of anger was . . . a well orchestrated act, almost.

....

You know, I could almost begin to admire this cunning....

"What you say next will determine whether or not we blast the hell out of here after we get what we've come for here." She continues, smiling a little bit looking at me. "Whether or not we leave something behind to blow this place to hell and gone..."

....

Wait, they came for something besides John? I'd thought they'd said that....

"Biloid, I need to pick your brain," she mutters, only loud enough for me to hear, startling me VERY badly.

"Are you Fahrbot?" I attempt to laugh. "Do I look like a biloid? I mean...."

  1. She holds up a finger to my mouth, silencing me, while holding up her tricorder. Oh frell....!
