The Doctor "Uh, what can you tell me about this Centaur Flu?" Belinda asks softly, interrupting. "And what's the best way to snap this Kirk, the commander of this 'starship', out of the haze he's in?" Actually, not a half bad set of questions! Would just rather like to know what we've stepped into here with this apparent curse AND how to get Kirk back to something coherent, what with all the invaders about and all that. Inquirer Snapping closed the tricorder I'd just been using, I glance over at the necromancer once known as Belboz, now called Belinda. Of the two, I must say that she is the most composed of the set product of this "Two Girl" prophecy business! Hannah Fredrics, still thinking she's just a 20th century girl (wonder if we can snap her out of that), is a bit shell shocked! I’ve just finished up doing quick, passive scans and spells, answering some of MY more urgent questions on “The List”. You know, “The List”? No? Well, it’s the kind of list one draws up when they’re worried about a life and death situation. It's basically a mental tool I use to quickly assess a situation (coming up with questions and answers QUICKLY) in order to survive it and even prosper, as it were. See, while I and the others might appear outwardly calm enough (or at least try to appear so), we have walked into the middle of some “deep dren” as Chiana might put it. Walked right into a epidemic that the TARDIS’ sensors didn’t pick up due to it’s exotic origins (ala Addventure Game 3). Detected the beastie now with a tricorder set to what I remember from stuff I had overheard in passing. Definitely has the stench of Scott Chen on it, with the Chaos energy (the mystical energy crap that made so many odd things happen around and to Chen). However, the organism that is the Centaur Flu seems to be more closely related to the magical/scientific hybrids the Military has become familiar with in the Phage that Minestus had made to wipe out humanity upon Terra Prime (and which had also kept us OFF Terra Prime in person until a effective cure had been devised. Long story, that..... Honestly, it's a more close match to the organism the Rules and Agents cooked up to fulfill Chiana's request than anything. Yep, a very contagious bug, this Flu. Matrix alterating capable even, from what I'd gathered by spell examination (which in the end is good for us Champions, since we can't have our Matrix's altered, so no worries on US transforming). Yeah, just have to get some time and come up with some kind of cure for this mysterious Centaur Flu (gotta talk more with Betty and Ragan and pick their minds) AND keep the smell of horseflesh coming from the transformed centaurs, Belinda, and Hannah Fredrics from spreading further afield than it has! Creator, with these invaders boarding the Enterprise we just can't exactly order this area confined! The invaders won't listen, I'm sure.... Worries, worries.... Well, anyway, Belinda's question.... Yet another question to add to a long list I'm compiling on our newest Crisis/Quest! Actually, those questions do tie into some other questions I was going to go about getting answers for here in a second. Wonderful business, this! Mind you, I rather like this business I am now in! Much more appealing that the life of soldiering I did back before I retired from the Military, honestly. Oh, not saying that what I did whilst in there hadn't been good and needful. No, not that, but I rather got burnt out from it all. I and my analog sister (who didn't burn out and stayed in her reality's Military (the Alliance reality, where Elrondir hales from) while I retired (or at least "semi-" retired). I'm still not exactly the most peaceful of folk, but at least I'm out of the business (the "exciting" part which ignorant idiots rave about) which can be summed up by the old saw: "We do our business in lead." Mind you, not all of soldiering involves violence, but that part was enough for my tastes, thanks. Now, all that said I believe I have a question for one of our group who I hope have a means to an answer for at least for some of my list of questions. And after having quickly accessed the bloody business he’d done to those who’d dared threaten his mate’s life and finding that they’re stable enough (with a few healing spells), he turns to answer. Do hope that whatever his answer is, it’ll be quick. Right now we have some grace time, but sooner or later the friends of these goons will come looking for them. Centaur flu or not, I and the others will not want to be here when they come, I think. Sigin I sigh, not liking the conclusions I'd come to from my examinations of these strange centaurs.
