Ragan
My last thought before I black out is that I really hope my "sister"
remembers what happened next in the TV show and warns the Doctor against
letting the Tesh carry us off...
The Doctor
"Oh dear," I say softly, not liking the way things are turning out at
all!
"Tesh!" Inquirer says sternly, in a low, calm voice, "State reason.
What is the role you are playing here?"
The baleful gaze that fell both Ragan and Leela turns upon Inquirer....and
that is all. The group of Tesh, including the older gentleman (gads, what
a lousy sense of dress fashion!), seem taken aback by Inquirer being unmoved.
Of course the Tesh's psionics do not effect her! I think
to myself, slowly smiling, Her rather alien nature does shield,
as well as the Master and Rassilon can attest!
Indeed, the same "alienness" had also accounted for the reason why Rassilon's
"strange fears and mysterious forebodings" had failed (re: 10873) with
Sigin, the elves, and my dear Inquirer. Indeed, later on over a roleplaying
game (rather fascinating pasttime, that), they'd admitted that if Betty
and the other "non-magic based" lifeforms hadn't mentioned feeling something,
they would have never known something was amiss. I had felt something
myself, but like the other Doctors I had been able to put it out of my
mind with a small effort.....but that was a bit different from them, all
the same.
Anyway, that aside, I do believe that Inquirer just dropped a subtle
hint with those emphasized words of her's.
"Lord?" the apparent leader of the Tesh blinks, looking away from the
implacable Inquirer (who has stepped in front of her fallen comrades, arms
crossed and awaiting an answer). I get the distinct impression that these
Tesh were going to go over and pick the unconscious forms up (I can see
them breathing from where I stand), "Surely you have brought the savage
her for us? She is undamaged and my acolytes will attend....."
The leader of the Tesh pauses in askance as the others of the Doctor's
odd group move to stand silently before their fallen comrades, blocking
the Tesh from picking up the unconsious forms. Betty in particular looks
like she is almost bursting with something that she'd like to say. A small
shake of her head (unseen by the Tesh since their confused gazes are being
directed back my way), tells me all I need to know about letting them "attend"
to Ragan and Leela.
But how to proceed?
Well now, I do believe I shall do a bit of "roleplaying" here. Something
that was a bit harder for me to do that I first believed ("No Doctor, you
can't have all those skills. Yes, I know that you have those skills,
but......).
Since they called me a "lord", I take that to mean they have given me
some form of authority with that title.... Time to play the part, I guess.

"I do believe
that my female associate has asked you two questions," I say in my most
arrogant, authorative voice, "Dare I ask you to answer?"
