Unreadable Words

The Never Ending Quest - episode 9205

Fred-Hannah perused Belboz's book for over an hour before finally giving up in frustration. The book was written entirely in runes, making it completely unreadable to anyone but a magic-wielder trained to read runes - a skill which took years to learn.

Dejectedly, Fred-Hannah moped around the necromancer's cave. She had no way of undoing what Belboz had done to her, and no clue how to proceed. Do I go on or go back? Am I a knight, trapped in a young girl's body? Or a young girl, sharing her body with a knight? Who am I? Oooooh, I hate this!

In frustration, Fred-Hannah kicked a rock on the cave floor. Instantly, two sections of the cave wall seemed to swing inward, each revealing a secret passage.

Fred-Hannah stared in fascination. The passage to the left was long and straight and suffused with a dull golden incandescence, while the one on the right veered away, but seemed to have a bright blue faintly distant.

  1. Carefully, Fred-Hannah proceeded down the right-hand passage.
  2. Boldly, Fred-Hannah went down the left-hand passage.
  3. Eagerly, Fred-Hannah began kicking other rocks in the cave.
  4. Timidly, Fred-Hannah shrank back into a faraway corner of the cave.
  5. Immediately, Fred-Hannah realized what the key to deciphering the runes was.
