| Fred-Hannah had every excuse to burst into tears. Her position seemed
hopeless. But Fred was not the type to give up and nor, terrified though
she might be, was Hannah. After a while, Fred-Hannah stopped crying, wiped
her eyes on her sleeve, and began to consider what she might do.
The wizard's spellbook [episode 8] lay on the floor of the cave beside him. Perhaps it might have some spell that would undo her condition? Whether someone like herself, with no knowledge of magic and as far as she knew no aptitude for it, could cast such a spell successfully was another matter, of course. She might even make matters worse, unlikely as that might seem to her at the moment. She leafed through the book...
