Once Fred-Hannah had reached the turn in the passage, she could see
a short distance ahead a room carved out of the rock, brightly lit by a
blue light apparently of magical origin, since it had no obvious source.
The room was furnished as a comfortable study, with a large wooden desk,
a leather armchair and rows of bookshelves lining the walls. There were
two other exits from the room. Both were fitted with doors, and both the
doors were closed. This room must form part of Belboz's living quarters,
Fred-Hannah realised, and normally have been kept concealed to avoid the
risk of any inhabitants of the caverns stumbling across it.
