Your Unexpected Way of Being Useful to Maggie and the Princess

Seeing your startled expression, the princess grins. Without saying anything, she hands you an oval mirror in an ornate frame. You almost drop it when you see your reflection. You have been transformed into an exact duplicate of the princess!

"Why?" you manage.

"I need to get away from the castle for a few days," the princess explains. "I have some business that I need to attend to. You don't need to know what it is."

"Is it connected with your mother's disappearance through a swirling blue and yellow disk which is believed to have been created by your friend Maggie here?" you ask, remembering what you had heard the king say earlier.

"Very good. Yes, my business is connected with that bitch, my mother. You really are much brighter than you look - I mean looked, since I of course look highly intelligent. My original plan was simply to slip away, but when it was discovered that I was missing there would have been a big search. It's just possible that I might have been found, which would have been very inconvenient. But when you turned up out of the blue, it occurred to Maggie and me that with a transformation spell you would make a fine stand-in till I get back. Before I go I'll brief you on everything that you'll need to know."

"What makes you think that I'll co-operate?"

"Because if you don't, you'll finish up in Maggie's dungeon with the others. Unless she decides to turn you into a frog or something instead."

1. "Very well," you sigh. "You'd better tell me the things that I'll need to know to impersonate you successfully."
2. "How about a reward for doing this?" you suggest.
3. With a possibly foolish bravado, you refuse to co-operate.
