Knowing that this is her only option, she accepts the Caravan driver’s offer. He lets come up in the front beside him, grabbing a fur blanket from the supplies for her to warm herself and cover herself up. She has no idea what animal the fur is from (she has lived in New York City her whole life and is not the nature types) but one layer of it is like an entire bed of heavy covers. She is quickly warmed up and comfortable.
They talk very little during the trip. The only question he asks her is what her name is. When she tells him it’s Sarah, he thinks that was an extremely odd name for an elf. Sarah wonders why he thinks she’s an elf even though she is no longer wearing her work outfit, but she doesn’t want to argue with the person who has come to her rescue. He doesn’t even seem curious as to how she ended up in her predicament. She supposes this lack of interest in other people is why these men have a job where most of their time is spent outside of society rather than in it. Sarah is worried. Even when she gets to the town, she will still be naked in the middle of winter and need something to wear. And of course, there is the question of where she is, how she got here, and how she can get home. Right now, though, getting clothes is her priority. She doesn’t know how she is going to be able to get a job in her current state and is embarrassed to ask. She only plans to ask the Caravan Driver about that when they finally arrive.The sun is just starting to fall when the town finally comes into view.
