The Caravan

The Black Void - Episode 7817

There is a track nearby, and a group of travelling traders happens to be using it. Sarah hears the noise of their wagons and the mules that draw them shortly before the party comes into view and, in view of her nakedness, looks for somewhere to hide. But at this time of year, the bushes are leafless and good hiding places are in short supply.

The man who is driving the lead wagon (which is pulled by two mules) spots her and calls out a friendly "Hello!", apparently not bothered by her nudity.

"Er, hello," Sarah replies. "Are you traders? I don't suppose your goods include clothing, by any chance?"

"You are in luck. My wagon is full of fur clothing. I could sell you a complete outfit, including boots, for a very reasonable twenty silver pieces."

Sarah realises that there is a slight snag. "Um, I'm afraid that I don't have any money with me."

"Down on your luck, huh?

  1. "Tell you what. I need someone to do my cooking and wash my clothes. If you'll work for me for the rest of this trip, which will last a month, then you can help yourself to whatever clothes you need and I'll feed you too."
  2. "Let it not be said that I'm a cruel man. I'll let you have a fur bikini for nothing.
  3. "I'll give you a lift to the next town, a couple of hours away. Perhaps you can get a job there and earn yourself money to buy clothes."
  4. "Tough." The caravan passes on by.
