The mermaids quickly swim toward you, clutching sharpened spears. One in
particular, a freckled redhead, looking about 25, approaches you.
"You there! What is your name? Where did you come from?" "My name is....Anna. I was a traveler and did not know of the pool's enchantment. Before I could escape, my body had already changed", you mutter sheepishly. Believing this, the girls take you into a large building in the center of the community. They give you a grass-stitched bra to match their own. At least you're not completely in the nude. From the information they give you, you come to understand that the water is enchanted but only affects young women, which would explain why there are no males present. In exchange for eternal beauty, the girls become half fish and lose the desire that men would otherwise have for them. Some of them, including Emma, the redhead from earlier, have lived here for thousands of years. You can't help but feel a little sorrow for them. After a moment, you wonder why they don't escape, but they tell you that there is none. This can't be true! You have no problem with being immortal, but being a mermaid wasn't part of the plan!
