Curled up in the bough of a giant oak tree Sarah finally dozed off.
Through the swirling mists of her dream she floated higher and higher
where an alabaster castle towered impossibly out of the clouds. She
slipped through the cracks in the walls where Amergin awaited her on an
round obsidian platform lit up with hundreds of candles lined along the
walls of the huge room. He was wearing a long green robe and his head
with crowned with a laurel wreath, and he smiled at her. But before she
could alight on the platform dozens of black skeletal hands sprouted from
the shimmering surface and seized the bard, quickly dragging him down
beneath the floor. Sarah screamed, frozen in mid-air, but he only
continued smiling at her as he disappeared from sight. And suddenly she
was falling, hurtling back through the clouds into an ocean of light
which she realized were the lights of a modern-day city like the one she
had come from. She watched the interstate traffic below grow closer and
closer and suddenly she woke up screaming right before she hit the
ground. Dawn was breaking and Amergin was sitting nearby stitching leaves together. He looked at her with alarm. "Are you allright? Did you have a night terror, m'lady elf? I have been trying to create clothes for us both with no success thus far, I am afraid." Sarah breathed heavily, her mind reeling with the aftershock of the nightmare. It had seemed so real.
