Deciding that it might be a kindness to Amergin to distract him from his
clearly hopeless task of trying to sew together leaves using a "needle"
that was a thorn and "thread" that was lengths of some thin vine, and
also feeling that telling him might help her put the experience behind
her, Sarah described her strange nightmare to him.
If he was alarmed by what she told him, he hid it well. "I don't believe that dreams, not even those of an elf, have any predictive ability, M'Lady," he said when she had finished. "Perhaps one of the mushrooms that you ate was a little 'off', and that caused your nightmare." "But it was so vivid. I've never had a dream like that before." "And I pray that you never have another such dream in future, seeing how it has upset you. Perhaps it was brought on by sleeping in a tree, since you say that you've never done that before."
