Sarah walked in the general direction of the singing, with the full intention of telling whoever it was to shut it. She emerged in a small clearing where a young man dressed like a medieval bard sat against a tree, singing much too sweetly to the harp. "Could you stop that awful cloying?" she said to him, not too kindly. The man suddenly stopped, and seemed to notice her for the first time. He looked at her clothes, and stammered, "I- I apologize, m'lady elf. Why, why I had no idea my songs could possibly offend anyone. Honest!" Sarah had no idea how to react to being called "m'lady elf". She wondered if this man was being sarcastic. She sighed, "Okay, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to sound rude. The reason for me calling you m'lady elf is because my eyes tell me you are both a lady and an elf." Sarah wondered if she should be the bearer of the bad news for this fool and tell him that elves are imaginary creatures, but decided there were more important things at hand. "Do you know where Manhattan is?" Sarah asked, not really hopeful. When the man gave a negative, she sighed, "I guess we're both just as lost then." "Hmmm. Well, then, m'lady elf, I suppose I can let you travel with me," the man offered, "I go by the name Amergin." "My name's Sarah," said Sarah. "Nice to meet you." "Sarah. Odd name for an elf," said Amergin. "How did you come to be lost in these woods?" Sarah sat down beside him. "Well, it's a really odd story." "I have heard many a farfetched tale that has proven to be true," said Amergin. Sarah sighed, then said. . .
