Small favours

There is a squish of mud and a creak of leather, and you guess Ted is hunching down for a closer look. He utters some words not meant for a lady's ear.

"What?"

"There's a girl alright," Ted says, "but it looks like she broke her neck in the fall. She's dead."

You turn your head to look up at this mysterious character who seems to be helping you, realizing a bit too late that if he really thinks you're dead, moving around is going to change his mind pretty quick.

"Don't move," he whispers. Well, that answered that question at least.

"Anything valuable on her?"

"I'd say no from the way she's dressed," Ted ventures, "but I'll check."

Next thing you feel a pair of coarse hands running briefly over you, their owner swearing under his breath - probably feigning disgust at having to touch a 'dead' body. Come to think of it, you're not too crazy about men touching your new body either.

"Nothing." More noises as Ted stands up.

1. "Well," says the leader, "you know the drill. Burn the body and let's get going."
2. They move on and leave you lying in the ditch.
3. A strange lethargy overcomes you. When you wake up it's morning.

5. An inexplicable hail of arrows out of nowhere strikes down everyone but you, Ted and the merchant.
