You try not to panic. You wonder whether you should ignore the chime, in the hope that whoever it is will go away. It would help if you knew who it was. Well, perhaps you can find out? "Computer, can you tell me who is outside?" you ask.

"Appearance matches that of Mavra Zrupl," the computer says. That doesn't leave you any the wiser, of course. The chime is repeated. Should you let this Mavra Zrupl in?

You have an idea. "Computer, I don't suppose there's a camera outside my door, by any chance?"

"There is. Shall I display its picture?"

"Please do."

A screen next to the door lights up. It shows:

  1. A young woman, human as far as you can tell.
  2. A Bieberite.
  3. A member of some alien species that you don't recall having seen before.
