I decide on taking a carriage for the first leg of my trip, since I'm
anxious to put some distance between myself and Theras, and in any case I
can find a coach now, while there's no gurantee of that later. In fact,
there are several in town at the moment, thier business having taken a
downturn with the smallpox outbreak restricting travel.
I settle on a small coach driven by a grandfatherly-looking man. For the cost of about half of what I have left after my shopping expedition, he will take me due south nearly one hundred miles, to the mining town of Pella in southern Laralia. No coaches will go farther than that, he assures me. The roads to Doria go through the mountains and will have to be travelled on foot. We are soon underway, and I watch the countryside slowly roll on by. I'm nervous, but excited about getting a fresh start. Who knows what awaits me next?
