I answer Don rather sharply, not very happy with his just barging in on me. "Tell you?" I say, as I put my breasts away. "With you about to marry another woman? I had too much pride for that. Besides, what would telling you have achieved, apart from making you feel guilty?"

"They are my children just as much as yours. I had the right to know about them. And I could have seen that you and they were properly provided for."

"How? I knew that you and your father had no money to spare - and I certainly wouldn't have accepted any money that originally came from your bride's family."

The babies start to cry at this point, disturbed by our raised voices.

"But look at what you've been reduced to, Harry. I can see how you're dressed. You're a whore, aren't you?"
