Time to Leave

The Black Void - Episode 341

Your awareness of the throbbing pain in your knee is forced to the back of your mind for the moment by your indignation at the android's callous seeming attitude. But perhaps you are doing him (it?) an injustice, you think when you cool down a little; presumably he is only following his programming and lacks a human's free will. Did his programmers simply not allow for the possibility of dead bodies in an area where, presumably, no humans were ever supposed to intrude? Or is the explanation more sinister than that?

It doesn't seem that there is much to be gained by staying in the manufacturing area any longer, now that you have examined the bodies. You need to talk to a human employee, preferably a fairly senior one, let them know that they have a couple of dead bodies on their hands, and get them to call the cops. You can't believe that they would refuse, but if they do then you will call them yourself.

Since there seems to be no other exit, you turn round and go back the way you came, wincing every time you put any weight on your right leg.

  1. You come back to where the five passages join, and try a different one.
  2. Your leg collapses underneath you before you have got very far.
  3. Your speed restricted by your bad knee, you aren't leaving quickly enough for the android's liking.
