Yawn! I had a good night sleep and not only that being a teenager, I slept
late because it is Saturday morning. I stretch and linger in bed for a
bit. A bird chirps outside. Someone walks downstairs, probably Mom's
footsteps. Another bird chirps.
I climb out of bed and head into the bathroom for a shower. Once that is done, I get dressed in my favorite blue jean and t-shirt. Then I head down for breakfast. Breakfast for me is yogurt and orange juice and toast with jam. After breakfast, I decide to do homework - that social studies essay is due on Monday so I will tackle that first. I dig out my homework that I carried home and look for my social studies notes. "Good morning, Honey," comes Mom's voice. "Good morning, Mom," I reply, flipping through my notes. "I grabbed the New York Times Magazine on my way to the bathroom and guess what I found inside it." I spin around and there Mom is holding Ruth that I signed out yesterday. I did not want Mom to know that I read Ruth Montgomery. Mom says "Please explain how this book got in the magazine."
