Once outside the house, and presumably out of Maris' earshot, I express
my concerns to Teran. He looks surprised and concerned, apparently not
having considered that his "old friend" could be so underhanded. I don't
trust him, though, and I make that clear to Teran.
"I should never have taken this job" he mutters. "Usman wanted you out of this city, not just for your safety, but to protect himself and the others who helped you escape. If Arif finds out about it now, I'll have failed his original job, as well as the new one." He curses in frustration. "What are you going to do?" I ask. "You know what needs to be done." he says grimly, drawing his sword. "I can't condone murder, even for someone as awful as Maris. Don't we have another option?"
