"I saw you sold to the First Minister Arif! He only visits the slave markets for one purpose! A few days later, word got out that the Sultan had been assasinated by his new harem girl. I just assumed it was you. The sultan's killer was supposedly executed a few days later. How did you manage to escape?" "That's none of your concern." I say. "Funny, I never figured you to do something like that, when I had you enslaved." Maris says. So, he believes I am the Sultan's killer, but is having doubts. I want him to keep that impression, so I decide on a little improv acting. I move in close to him, anger flashing in my eyes. "You don't know me! You don't know anything about me!" I shout. I give him the best glare I can muster. "You'd be surprised what I'm capapble of." I say icily. His expression is a mixture of anger, contempt, and ..fear. Teran, nodding in approval at my performance, chimes in "Ya may not know what she's capable of, Vosk, but you definitley know what I am capable of." He presses the sword blade closer up to Maris' neck. "OK,OK!" Maris relents. "What do you want with me? Revenge? Money?" "Nothing so crude." I say, still attempting to retain the edge in my voice. "I'm looking for someone. The Laralian knight who you captured along with me. The one who escaped from your men later that same day. Donald De Freydair. I have reason to think he is still here in the capital. Tell me where he is." Maris rises to his feet, Teran's blade folowing closely. He answers
