"Hendrik, I..." I stumble over the words. I feel even worse for having
lied to him earlier. He's shown me nothing but kindness ever since, and
is now willing to confront Cecil on my behalf.
Lord Richard nods in approval at Hendrik's offer. "Well said, my good
man!" Hendrik turns to me, waiting. "Very well, follow me." I finally
say.
We bid farewell to Richard and his coachman, promising to return quickly. Teran continues to doze, oblivious to our actions. I then lead Hendrik on the short walk to Cecil's house. "I'm sorry I decieved you, Hendrik." I say softly. "You are a good man. Why are you being so kind to me, who you only just met?" I ask. "You flatter me, Harry. I am just doing what any upright and rightgeous man should." "Perhaps if you just gave me some food and directions." I reply. "But giving me clothing, escorting me back to town, and now this...It's too much, Hendrik." "There is something about you....you remind me of....no, nevermind." He shakes his head, then grins. "I couldn't abandon a lady in need, is all." I smile at him. Don said that to me too once. Don... I wonder how he's getting along. I hope after this business with Cecil is over, we can find him as well. But returning to the matter at hand, we have reached Cecil's house. Hendrik bangs on the door loudly with his walking stick.
