Fuel Leak!

I decide to head for the river and then to follow it. If it's navigable,
then there are likely to be settlements on its banks. And if I should be
forced to land before I can find civilisation, then at least I will have a
source of water. Food too, maybe, if the vegetation proves to be edible.
But then I look at the fuel gauge again, and see that it is already reading lower than it was when I last checked. A bullet must have holed the tank. I suppose I'm lucky that it didn't explode. I put the plane into a gentle descent, and look for somewhere to make an emergency landing. I spot a large sand dune just ahead. At least a crash landing into that should be fairly soft. If I'm in a fit state to walk afterwards, I will head west towards the river, which shouldn't be further away than ten miles at the most. I crash the plane into the dune.
