Duncan, the Necromancer

Duncan appears totally startled. He surveys the scene around him, It appears to be totally different from what he is used to. "Darn it!" snaps the necromancer. "I should have known not to trust that dude!"

He remembers the man. Duncan was the most experienced necromancer that has ever been known to practice sorcery in the Kingdom of Groydon. People came to pay dearly to have spells cast in their favor, such as having weapons blessed before a journey, or having their babies endowed with special abilities.

But this man was different. He appeared with a tattered parchment that was rolled up. The parchment was a scroll that contained a special spell, The type of spells that can be cast from a scroll is usually clearly labeled at the top. But this scroll was missing its title and, not only that, it was written in an ancient language which made it impossible to have it deciphered. Not quite impossible - the only way to find out was to read out the incantation of the scroll aloud. But Duncan didn't dare risk his life over an untitled scroll, so he did his best to study the inscription and consulted various tomes. After six months of study, he was no closer to having an inkling of what the spell on the scroll did.

Out of sheer frustration, he decided to cast the unknown magic written in the scroll. It took him a long time to read the contents of the scroll; he read slowly and loudly. When he finished reading the scroll, a huge wall of black smoke engulfed him, sending him spinning through the void.

And when Duncan the necromancer emerged from the void, he found himself...

2. In Salem, Massachusetts, the year 1692.
3. In the dungeon of Wanda, Wayfeendom's wicked witch.
4. Outside a cave of Neanderthals during the Stone Age.
