You enter the armor shoppe in order to get yourself appropriately equipped.
The shopkeeper is a big bald man, with a patch over one eye and several missing teeth. No doubt this fellow has seen his share of action. "Hello, good sir! Please outfit me with your finest armor!" The shopkeeper looks you over. "I don't thinks youze could afford it, misser." He's probably right. "Perhaps you can point me to something in my price range." You point to a pair of ratty old leather gauntlets. How much are those? "Those woulds be 1000 gold apiece, sir!" 1000 gold? The reward for rescuing the queen is 10000! These prices aren't just high, they're outrageous! "So, um...how can a scrappy fellow such as me earn some quick money?" "Well, sir, youze coulds always kill rats outside town." "Rats? How could that possible make me any money?" "You'd be surprised, sir. Them rats often drop money, and occasionally even armor and weaponry." That sounds absurd. Should you suspend your disbelief and go and kill rats (as the shopkeeper suggests), or should you try to find yourself a real job?
