...You Will Die.
Pretty stern warning there. Or was it a warning? Wasn't there a book called Steal This Book once? The publishers certainly hadn't wanted anyone to steal that one! Probably just a marketing gimmick, like "a book to die for" or something. Then again, in a place like this, who knew?
Well, only one way to find out.... Okay, several ways!

I open the book and start reading.

I turn it over and read the back cover. That does not count as reading the book, does it?

I walk to the center of the room, hold up the book and say out loud: "Hey, has anyone here read this?"

I open the book to a random page, hand it to the nearest person (without showing the cover) and ask them to read a passage out loud, pretending I don't understand it or something.

I draw my gun (remember the gun?), hand the book to the nearest person and say "READ IT!" while waving the gun threateningly.

I shrug, put the book in my pocket and look for something else to do.

I ask the palm trees (!) if they have read it.
