Three Women

You spin around, your blade at the ready, and are surprised to see three women. The oldest reminds you of your grandmother, while the other two are of middling age. If it wasn't for the fact that they were standing in the caves of the Dragon, you would have thought they were countrywomen on their way to the market. "Here," the oldest one says, offering you a shovel. "Why don't you use this?" You take the shovel without hesitation; the women hardly seem a threat. "What is your name, brave knight?" one of them asks. "I am Sir <Insert Name Here>. And you are?" you ask in turn. The oldest steps forward, "My name is Catherina, and these are my sisters Desdemona and Embeth." You bow respectfully and the women smile at your gallant behavior. "But what brings you to this place?" Catherina asks. "I have come to slay the Dragon," you answer proudly. You find that you want to impress these women with your bravery, as a son would a mother. Their simple and honest bearing makes you think of the people of your own village. These are obviously good, hard working people and you find them very endearing.

The women whisper excitedly among themselves upon hearing your reply. But when they turn back to you they have a sad look in their eyes. "Oh if only you could kill the beast," Embeth says, "the monster's death would free so many who are his slaves." "Is that why you are here?" you ask compassionately, "are you the Dragon's slaves?" Desdemona nods regretfully, "It is true. But we have a plan and perhaps the gods have sent you here to aid us."

1. "What is your plan?" you ask with great interest.
