"You see," said the witch, not seeming to notice the way that Princess Fredwynna was slowly inching closer and closer to her, "I need two people for the spell, one of each gender, because this is a spell that will allow me to control people. However, if I only control, say, the men, then the women will still be able to resist me and that will be a real bother. Plus the spell's ingredients are expensive and it takes a long time to prepare, and it will wear me out when it's done, so I need to get it right the first time. What I will do is transfer my thought waves to both of you, lying there on the bed, which will control you. From there, you will put the next person of your gender you come into contact with in control of me, then the next, then the next, in a chain, and you won't be able to help it. It's absolutely ingenious! A-HA-HA-HA-HA-heack!" she squeaked suddenly as Fredwynna's sword came in contact with her throat.
"Give me one good reason why I shouldn't kill you right now." growled Fredwynna.
The witch:

  1. said, "I could help YOU control everyone instead...wouldn't you like that kind of power?"
  2. said, "I am rich and can pay you very well--please don't hurt me!"
  3. said, "I can teach you a spell that will help you defeat the dragon, that's why!"
  4. said nothing useful in time, and Princess Fredwynna decided to kill her after all.
