Pyramid power!

"Wait a minute," said Carola. "Why was I chosen to use the pyramid? I'm hardly the most likely candidate to be chosen to kill an evil entity."

"We do not know. The insight into the timestream given us by the Pyramid told us that you should use it. Maybe you will understand this better. But be warned. Although the Brazen Man cannot harm you directly, he will try to kill you through his minions, or to control you. So be very careful. Now go. And may God be with you on your quest."

With that, a flash of light engulfed the four companions, and they were outside the tunnel where Carola had touched the glyph. Where the door had been, there was now nothing.

Belinda realized that she was now wearing a belt with a scabbard, in which was contained a sword. The Guardians had thoughtfully given her a weapon. She was quite glad at this , because she would not be sitting back while Jarlath and Matthias did all the fighting.

Jarlath saw that his pack was there, and picked it up. He saw that some of his spell books were on the floor, and they were open. "You weren't looking through my spell books, were you? They're very dangerous," said Jarlath.

"I don't worry very much about danger," said Carola.

"Maybe that's why the Guardians chose you," pointed out Matthias.

"So how on Earth do you seek out the Brazen Man?" said Belinda. "Whe have to find him before we kill him."

"I suppose we'll have to wait until Carola has an insight," said Matthias. "I think we should continue on our quest to stop Vaeren."[ref: 2100]

"You're probably right," said Jarlath.
