"Yes, I did know that actually," said Fred. "She's been quite open about it." Meanwhile Adele was looking daggers at the blonde girl. "You never did like me, did you, Elaine?" she said. "I never should have rescued you. If you'd rather, I can put you back inside the sapphire, you know." "Do you two know each other?" asked Fred. "Oh yes," said Elaine. "We go back a long way. Let me tell you what she did to make me mistrust her so."
