Returning to the chamber with the chest

"Help me move this," Nebat asked Balaam. Together they inched the rock over and to their relief there was nothing on the other side. So the band of four set out and came to the cavern with a chest floating in a pool of water and several bodies strewn about. Other smugglers would be following shortly to move the chest and bury the dead, but Fred knows he must keep moving.

Taking a different exit, to the East, they travel down a winding track that looks as though it was once an outlet for the pool of water. Upon coming to a wider, higher part of the tunnel, Balaam stretches his neck and arms. As he does so he strikes his left hand against the roof. "Au- ah!" Suddenly there is a rumble from above, and air starts to rush past them. Nebat says, "Quickly, I think there is water coming down the tunnel! Run!" "No, we should climb up to the roof and we will be safe in this wide part of the tunnel!" Counters Mahlah. Balaam is looking down at the scrape on his left hand. Then they all look at Fred.

1. Run down the tunnel.
2. Try and hang on to cracks in the wall/roof while the surge passes.
