After preparations had been made and all had rested, Fred was introduced to his companions.

Mahlah, a young woman who demonstrated good skill with a short sword and a sling.

Balaam, a large man who often has to stoop in the tunnels. He carries an axe in one hand and a short sword in the other.

Nebat, a thin and agile man who uses a crossbow and shield or a dagger if necessary.

An older man explains to Nebat briefly where they should go. The shortest route is back to the chamber they fled from, but that could still contain the foul gas that killed one of them. Or they could take a longer route that is known to be patrolled by the dragon's minoins.

1. Move the stone and see if the gas has dissipated
2. Risk passing the patrols
