Fred goes to Hell

The Never Ending Quest - Episode 9046

"No," said Saint Peter, "I'm sorry. Hell is a one way street. Unless, of course, you make a deal with the Devil, the way your alternate self did, but I don't want to get into that."

"There has to be something! I can't let the woman I love be tortured in Hell!"

"I'm afraid there's nothing I can do. God is merciful, but He is also just. Unless..."

"Unless what?" said Fred, a glimmer of hope in his eye.

"I'm a little shoddy in my knowledge of twentieth-century church documents, but I think that there may be something in Vatican Council II about virtuous unbelievers that have never heard of Christ being able to reach Heaven. If Astra had never heard of Christ, she may have a chance. But I need to read the exact church document. Being the first Pope, I try to keep track of doctrinal developments, but it's difficult, even when you're immortal. Unlike God, I'm not all-knowing. So you'll have to go to twentieth-century Rome during the Second Vatican Council and find out what the exact law is. Good luck!"< P>"But I don't understand, If God has willed that she go to heaven after all, why did he send her to Hell? He is all-wise, so He can't make a foolish decision."

"I don't know," said Saint Peter. "Maybe He's testing you. Goodbye, and good luck!"

Fred felt himself falling, falling...

  1. Fred finds himself in Twentieth Century Rome, as intended
  2. Fred finds himself in Twentieth Century Rome--in the middle of an alien invasion!
  3. Fred finds himself somewhere, t sure isn't Twentieth Century Rome
  4. Fred finds himself in Hell
  5. Fred find himself in the Dragon's cave
