Doctor Who’s group - Hm, what to say? Like a cloudburst that hit without warning both the Doctor and his arch nemesis the Master rather swept up the more (seemingly) mundane humans into the mix. The Master had been out to blow up the VLA and cause a nuclear winter in the process to wipe out most of the humans on the Earth of Betty Ragan (of the brown hair) for as of yet unnamed alien race who wished to move in and take that world over afterwards. The Doctor had swept down to try to prevent that and the others kind of got swept up in the scheme of things in one fashion or another…. The Doctor -http: / / en.wikipedia. org / wiki / Doctor _ (Doctor _ Who) This Timelord is currently in his third incarnation (as played by the British actor Jon Pertwee from 3 January 1970 to 8 June 1974). However, none of his current companions know just how new (or old) the Doctor is to his third incarnation beyond the fact that he’s obviously gotten his TARDIS working again (after it having been disabled for a bit, marooning him on . . . .well . . .his version of Earth). See, the Doctor has gone missing soon after having landed in the Land of Fiction when a madwoman (a Dr. Ritsuko Akagi) had abducted him and apparently tortured him before being rescued and dropped off at a place somewhere on the other side of the Hellmouth… The Master -http: / / en.wikipedia. org / wiki / Master _ (Doctor _ Who) Again, we don’t have a real clear idea just WHEN this particular version of the Master’s life departed from the TV script (if it did) and landed here. Oh, we know that from his appearance that it must be before the episode called “The Deadly Assassin (1976) since he looks like the actor Roger Delgado who played his TV counterpart. Whatever the case, while Rei and the gang might being acting nice and chumming it up with the Master, both sides know to keep a wary eye on the other and leave at that. The Master is a supervillian plane and simple, and thus needs to be handled VERY carefully and even THEN it might explode still in the heroes faces. Rei and her magical friends are a big, unexpected development: full of unknowns and potential benefits and banes. Yes, they are unknowns (but not totally unknown due to . . .certain things). … Both sides would rather really not have to deal with the other but what is there for it right now?! Betty Ragan (of the Brown Hair) -Let’s call her just “Betty” from now on for conversation sake, shall we? Basically, a bright young woman who works for the VLA in New Mexico and the writer of a rather well selling book relating to her field of expertise. She also is a rabid scifi fan of several franchises (Doctor Who being just one) who also happened to dabble from time to time writing fanfiction based storythreads at various online “addventure” / choose your own adventure type games. Being the good Samaritan she can be at times, of course she helped an amnesia suffering young woman named Stacy with her troubles when she said something about danger coming from the grounds of the VLA. Frankly, she got MUCH more than she bargained for here. What with the Master’s plan to blow up the VLA (and herald in a nuclear winter to wipe out humanity) in order to prep her world for the client race the Master had been employed by AND meeting not only people from previously fictional scifi settings but also . . .her own avatar from the now closed Game 3 from Addventure. Oh, and probably nothing but apparently had a bad encounter with some chap named John Crichton of IASA and is not at all sad that said jerk died in his ill fated space vehicle a bit ago… Yes, this Betty’s world never heard of the TV show “Farscape” and probably IS a world where the TV show events are reflected. Has been known to look at “Ragan” oddly from time to time when Ragan slips up and uses Farscapian terms now and then… Betty Ragan (of the Red Hair)- This is basically the same woman as “Betty” from above. Works for the VLA of her world but never got around to writing that book her analogous “sister” wrote. (and let us call her “Ragan” for now on for convenience), but her life took an odd detour when she got herself sucked into Game 3 by a vengeful Scott Chen and got turned into a twin of a now missing minor character of Game 3, Melissa. Got rescued from a nasty medieval encounter (along with Melissa) that had something to do with some “Twins of Doom” prophecy nonsense by the Doctor and got swept along with the Doctor in his quest to stop the Master’s mad schemes with Betty’s VLA. Currently is a bit bemused that the “good guys” here are being somewhat chummy with the Master. Then again, it beats having to deal with the “shoot first and ask questions later” heroic types. Especially considering what the cost would be to her “sister’s world if the Master should die in such a punch up. Melissa -A young red haired woman and (until recently) a relatively minor character from Game 3 who Ragan got turned into a twin of for some neferious purpose of Scott Chen who got swept in the course of things when the Doctor rescued her and Ragan. Currently missing after being engulfed by some sort of spacial distortion / wave thing which had been related to the blasphemy the Master had been attempting to perpetuate with the VLA. There is a real possibility that she might have indeed been erased from existence by that wave or somehow teleported back . . . somewhere else where the Master’s TARDIS lay. Maybe. It remains to be seen. Stacy -A young woman who’s memories beyond faint impressions and small snatches failed to go back any further than finding herself riding in a subway car in New York city. Through the course of things of trying to decypher just who the hey she really was she found herself trying to warn Betty about some impending danger haling from the VLA. As it turns out, she had been right but . . .frankly that the threat was from a Whovian supervillian who’d gotten himself displaced in time and space hadn’t been anything like she’d been expecting. Whatever the case, she is right now that Rei and her friends have discovered . . .that she may be a Timelord (or Timelady) in disguise and not even know it! . . . Well, it’s different from being the descendant of a whip wielding archeologist or some kind of alien in disguise who’d been tasked to help invade Earth or whatnot, right? Is she a friend or foe who just cannot remember her true identity, however? Remains to be seen! Rei and her companions here are trying to find a right and proper (and safe) way to broach the subject here. Soon enough you’ll see and hear why they’re not jumping right into it. Patience. ”So . . .now that we have all introduced each other and given a small background story . . .all the while near the end you were at times glancing at either your newest ‘sister’ as it were and Stacy,” the Master finally rounds out, sitting down after looking oddly himself at the later in askance. Frankly, he was at a loss himself at just HOW Stacy should have any kind of clue about his dealings with the VLA. Oh, there had been that one rather obnoxious female interloper earlier but he had silenced her well before she could have gotten off any kind of warning . . .right? AND this human woman looked NOTHING like that one annoyance, anyway. How had she’d known anything about his brilliant (but ultimately flawed) scheme to have gotten the unexpected addition to the Doctor’s group into the mix? ”What now beyond wait and twiddle our thumbs until our magic girl over there manages to find tall, dark and evil’s TARDIS how about you tell me why you kept giving me odd looks there?” the young woman in question, Stacy finally asks in a bit if annoyance. She’d gotten a bit tired of waiting for whatever Rei wasn’t saying or asking to be said. Rei sighed and shook her head, making a gester with her hand. Stacy yelped, suddenly finding herself magically bound to the chair she’d been sitting at and quiet unable to squirm free. ”Wha . . .what the hell hero?!” the Master swore, jumping back a bit in surprise at how . . .swiftly this ‘magic’ stuff could work. Somehow, he’d falsely assumed that spellwork was a longer . . .more showy affair one could probably counter easily. Like say, putting a few dozen bullets between the shouldblades to stop it, right? “Why the restraints on one of your allies!?” Apparently magery work was not as slow and showy as the few fairy tales he’d heard over his lifetime, he will admit to himself later. That and for some reason he’d begun to believe that Rei and her group, powerful though they’d seem to try to portray themselves as, was something of a pushover. A weakness obviously picked up from her time with . . .her uncle the Doctor . . .her version of his nemesis. She . . .could have done that to him at any time but hadn’t? Why? Oh, he’d fingured out that she and her friends had restrained from outright just killing him because of the fate of an Earth lay in the balance, but somehow . . . .mistaken lesser means of dealing with him as either squeemishness on their part . . .or lack of options. Hells, this might mean the could still turn him into a frog or some other harmless animal and just CARRY him about in a glass jar? Or why not just go the old but crude option of just putting two rounds into his knees and be done with it? Surely a threat as large as he was . . .they couldn’t do that, right? He’d do it in a heartbeat if the roles were reversed but. . . . . . Well, let just say that the good ol’ Master here proves once again that paranoia can be habbit forming and . . .nerve wracking in it’s own right. Without even meaning to the winged women had just wound the evil Timelord up without half trying. Something they’d hoped to avoid, really… Meanwhile, several other voices are raised in protest at the abrupt departure of decorum. Magically tying up guest against their will was frowned upon in polite society, usually. That and up until now Rei and her group had almost been hyper-polite . . . “She’s a cipher,” Rei sighed. “Possibly a ticking timebomb waiting to explode the right moment or some victim of a stray curse cast by an evil hedge witch. But while she might appear human . . .the magical faint traces of her having a decidedly double pulmonary system with the two hearts like a Galifreyian person? No, we’ve got something decidedly wrong here, thanks.” It wasn’t that Stacy had been thick here and just hadn’t gotten the broad hints they’d thrown out. More like apparently she HAD gotten it, but was a bit . . .skittish around magic? Maybe. Actually, exactly that but that’s for later… ”She a Timelord?” the Master blinks, looking at Stacy again and now . . .not sure just what to make of her. At first blush he’d dismissed such a human lady as being relatively harmless and just that, merely human but now that he actually looked . . .there was something . . .quiet off about her. Oh she still struck him as being a human woman but . . .now something about it wasn’t quiet . . .right. …. No! It just couldn’t be. He had killed her with his signature weapon early on and surely once she’d fallen into that dimensional rift after slipping off that bridge and . . . “Hold still Stacy . . .this might hurt and for that I do appologise!” “Less blunt means and coaxing just did not seem to play out so we’re doing it a bit more . . . .bluntly,” Reika adds from the side, pulling out a blue glowing potion flask from a bag too small to possibly hold it. ”I and my sisters tried to do this in a polite and subtle manner but apparently nobody was picking up the dime,” Lilith sighs, shaking her head. “Well, so much for the easy way…!” Silence greets that statement for a few seconds and then… "So....what do you think of our 'heroes' here?" Betty asks Ragan, not exactly happy about the whole of it. "Is it just me or do they give you reservations too?"
…. But, that’s not how it happens folks. They would use magic (and other non-lethal means) to subdue Stacy if it should prove to be needful, but they won’t play that hand . . .out of hand, shall we say. Not yet, anyway. Instead of strong arm tactics which could only alienate everyone and everything, instead the heroes take a much more . . .polite and enlightened tract which unfortunately gets interrupted amid stream! ”Well, the whole of it for at least we’d been wondering when and if something unexpected (of COURSE!) interrupts. ”Well, frankly we were wondering why nobody here has even thought to ask about us magic using types to try to heal her amnesia,” Reika begins, pulling out a flask of some glowing liquid of some type. Whatever else she would have said (and her audience would have answered in response) is temporarily put on hold when . . . Setsuna staggers and only because she is able to catch with her magical staff.
