Eh, What’s up Doc?

The Never Ending Quest - Episode 89484

Yukiko

Setsuna staggers and only because she is able to catch herself and use her key-staff as a crutch is the reason why she doesn’t fall to the floor as a TARDIS in disguise (chameleon circuit choosing a mundane Earth structure to blend into the background) suddenly appears with a shriek and a thump, impacting with the floor violently!

AT least it is taken to be a TARDIS . . .as seen in the television show. Or somehow and for some reason Setsuna just nabbed an old style British Police Box just for “the lols” of it.

I may not be as well versed in living, but somewhere I must have learned or overheard that phrase that seems to fit this situation. Perhaps from that time between my rescue from my berserking Eva and my meeting of my new and beloved sisters back in the Imperium of Man during the 40th millennium Current E . . . No, make that “AD” vice “CE”.

The later might be more “politically correct” but it is also much more suited for academia than normal conversation, neh? At least in this present day setting, I will wager.

”Why is there a big blue Friggin’ box in my library?!” that rather obnoxious principal Snyder loudly asks nobody in particular, clearly stunned at the sudden appearance of the TARDIS out of thin air.

How odd that surprise, really, given the rather odd nature of the Hellmouth and of this town of Sunnyvale! Then again my sisters had been rather dismissive of the man’s intellect to start with and this latest display lends little to allay me of their opinions being nothing but correct.

The man still believes that Buffy Summers is nothing more than a hooligan despite protests from Prince Endymion to the contrary. The man is nothing but a fool and a stooge under the employment of the corrupt mayor of this town to keep an eye and ear out for “trouble” Buffy and her friends may create.

Still, he does have a valid question. . . .

”Yes, just why did it end up here?” Betty asks, getting in on the act and gesturing at the unexpected timepod. “I thought the plan was to try to magic a path leading to it, not this!”

Rei shakes her head, at something of a loss herself.

”Good Grief Setsuna!” Sister Rei curses, gesturing toward the alien object that has just appeared out of thin air and landed rather roughly on the library floor. “We asked you to find the bloody thing. Not bodily drag it here by yourself!”

A tap on her shoulder draws Rei’s attention away from whatever our erstwhile Senshi of the Moon might have to say for herself and towards instead to the dark Time Lord: the Master.

”A slip of a girl managed to drag the Doctor’s TARDIS from the other side of that dimensional rift here by herself without aid of temporal equipment?!”

”Hey,” Rei blinked and drolly shot back. “I thought you did some research on Sailor Moon the anime whilst traipsing about Japan’s dark underbelly doing whatever you had been plotting to overthrow everything and become Master of all matter or whatnot you’d have tumbled onto that little fact. She and her fellow Senshi in some sources had been called gods. That and whether or not they could be called 'gods', they are what could only be called living magical versions of ARTILLARY and then some!!”

Got to wonder how really peaceful this "Silver Millenium" really is if their Queen has to go out and turn ordinary human beings into living artillary pieces in order to protect her realm... Got to wonder....

All that said, we can see now just perhaps why a Sailor Senshi like Setsuna was really (maybe) a somewhat credible (albeit unexpected and strange) potential opponent for the God Emperor earlier there. Heaven only knows how much more powerful (godlike) Setsuna shall become when she matures more fully into her role.

Her mother, Queen Serentiy, supposedly is supposed to have been the inspiration for the Japanese moon goddess in several other timelines.

”Apparently I did not study enough,” the dark Timelord sneers and then shakes his head slightly rueful. “Then again I seriously had never planned on meeting a real ‘magic girl’, socially or otherwise today so I should say I can be forgiven for such oversights.”

”And thus consider yourself forgiven for that and that alone,” Rei countered with a slightly wry smile. “Not that you’re truly looking for forgiveness for you actions, right?”

This earns s slightly sinister but honest chuckle from the evil Timelord, acknowledging the jab.

”Gee, she knows the Master so very well,” Ragan muttered to herself.

Alas, apparently she and my sisters do at that. Frankly we all hope to have this business done as rapidly as possible before this madman finally decides that it would be in his best interests to somehow try to twist this to his advantage and betray us all.

The story of our lives . . . almost like we’ve never left Tokyo 3 in a way when Faustian things like this happen, Lilith sighs mentally to me and me siblings. Or more like Catch 22: Damned if you do and Damned if you don’t!

”I . . .was not trying to drag it here,” Setsuna huffs, having finally caught her breath. “At first it was the clearest portent of what I had gotten from the Master. The easiest to latch onto and trace but halfway through it became . . .erratic, like it kept on moving and jumping about and couldn’t be locked down.

”Apparently my efforts to latch onto it to get a clear path accidently dragged it here . . .while it was in flight,” the Senshi of the Moon finishes, clearly as surprised as we as to this latest development.

”Flying . . .then that would mean . . .!” Ragan begins, smiling as if the situation has suddenly gotten MUCH better for us. And maybe it has for . . .

A clearly shaken Time Lord suddenly appears. He appears to be shaken VERY much from a VERY rough ride that Setsuna just gave him, at a guess.

Whatever the case, somehow I know that THIS is the Doctor (so much like the one Uncle I’d met in that hazy time between my rescue and my first encounter with my siblings). Ah, and the Doctor looks to us and opens his mouth to speak. Perhaps to ask just HOW he got dragged here (and perhaps ask a LOT of other questions, one perhaps being to the odd appearance of some before him), but something interrupts him before he can speak.

SQUAAAAK!!!

One would think he would have dismissed such things as being something related to the Land of Fiction he had recently escaped from, but meh! We have questions ourselves!

“Eh, what’s up Doc?” Rei calmly asks the goodly renegade Timelord, smilingly slightly at being able to FINALLY use that one.

  1. Has something to do with some kind of cartoon rabbit from an old American anime, I find out later. Something called “Bugs Bunny”…
