Prince Endymion “We shall gladly explain all but I rather suggest everyone gather around, I rather doubt any of the group feels like repeating themselves AND certain parties play rather important parts in this tale!” Soon enough Giles and the rest of the “Scoobies”--a reference I am told refers to some kind of talking crime fighting cartoon dog, for why I do not need to know right now—gather around and wait for me to tell all, as it were. And tell I shall, for it is my turn to explain things to . . . the “natives”. Frankly, Rei and her sisters (as well as her husband) rather doubt they could hold a civil tongue in their mouths for part of the tale I shall share with them for it is too close to home for the winged women, really. Too many bad memories dragged back to the surface, you see. Or will see soon enough. Best be it either me or my wife for this, and being that I actually am due to do what I can to “pull my weight” with this group of adventurers I’ve thrown in my lot with… ”Good,” I begin. “Now that you are ready I will tell were we and Buffy have gotten off to here and why the delay.” I give the blonde Slayer turned angel a pointed glance, giving her a chance to object before I reveal what she has up until this moment not told the other; something that apparently her friends have been unable or unwilling to realize themselves. With a slight nod of acceptance, Buffy signals for me to proceed with nothing held back. . . . Or at least that is what I interpret as meaning, anyway. Being that she had basically advocated the responsibility of revealing the true nature and such she shall really have no right to complain if we reveal or say something that she wished to not be revealed. She advocated her responsibility and as such any such hurts we may inflict upon our listening audience in the library shall be her fault, not ours. I will be gentle though. I am not heartless. ”Now, pardon if I shall be rather less than diplomatic in some of what I shall say,” I begin. “My ‘english’ is still rather bookish….” Indeed, it was a great blessing that the younger members of the Scoobies stop with their “pop culture” references soon after we had joined them. While I can cipher out the meaning of some of it through context, such labor can be most cumbersome and time consuming. Besides, after more than a few incidents where Rei and her friends and family used some of their own “pop culture” references that was too avant- garde for this place and time; a time and place where the events which gave birth to the reference has yet to happen (if it was ever to happen) they got the point. Sigh, we had politely asked them to keep the references to a minimum for my sake but . . . Nevermind, one must make allowances for those who . . .are alien to one’s own culture and ways. The same could be said for myself; I must wonder how rude and crude I must have inadvertently appeared through no fault of my own due to ignorance of their ways. ”That and some of what I shall have to reveal shall be rather painful for some in this room,” I continue, without looking at the person in question in the room I speak of. “However, there is no real way to reveal it without . . .being less than truthful. And that would only hurt us all in the long run, I fear.
