. . .until somebody bumps into the field, anyway... Warmaster Horus . . . It is probably better for all that I am in here while the Emperor reacquaints himself with the remaining High Lords of Terra. THAT and reaffirming his position as Omni-messiah for the Cult of Mechanus (the Martians’ belief in his divinity in that matter must have taken SUCH a hit with him getting almost killed and having to be installed into the Golden Throne because of that damnable Horus Heresy) with that the STC unit that . . .Buffy made us aware of. Father needs to go and consolidate all the power and authority he can so as to lessen any danger of revolt or civil war. As distasteful as it is for him to have to play the part of a god (do remember what the Imperial Truths was all about and just WHY they were necessary . . .though that is no longer the case now . . .must give thought to how to report THAT turn of events when I return home with the means to accomplish there what happened HERE) one must sometimes use the cards dealt them and damn personal feelings on the matter. All for the greater good and all that, you know! Given enough time and effort one can sway the public, you know. That is how I did it more than a few times with the human planets I brought into the Imperium fold. Less bloody and wasteful of resources, you see. As for playing the role of a god being needed? Just trust me, the Emperor coming back from the dead is going to send massive shockwaves through the Imperium. Lots will be VERY happy to have him back but there will be those who just enjoy the power they had with Father being . . .indisposed. Being a “God” Emperor provides better more advantages a lever (less spilling of blood for one) at regaining control of the situation than what could otherwise be afforded. And the STC is a vital key for that! Heh, the STC. Hells, if that isn’t a kick in the crotch that the Imperium had something like THAT all along, just waiting in the Emperor’s own library while they’d been scouring the heavens . . . . . . If there is such a thing as God out there (something I’m not yet just accept as being true despite everything today), then HE has one seriously SICK sense of humor!! . . . Eh, anyway Rei and her sisters are doing their part in the hard sell here. Oh, the Emperor could Usually, I would be something of a foil for him. Back home in the Imperium I hale from--the 30K Imperium if you will--He acting like the iron fist and I the silken glove but the problem with that is that . . .this is not my Imperium. . . . Must say they do make VERY lovely silken gloves with their looks! Judging from their beauty, I can see how the woman named Yui Akari could have been called the Helen of Troy: the woman who was the root cause for one man’s one man war on God himself… Gendo Ikari was a real SOB, but he had good taste in what kind of face to destroy the human race for… Er, anyway… No, let Rei and her sisters fill that role that my analog long abandoned in his treason. Those young women are perfectly fit to fill those shoes in the hard sell Father plans on having: upgrading the weapon technology to where those poor SOBs of the It’s the Imperium of Man ala Warhammer 40K and my analog in THIS universe . . .was a traitor who betrayed the Imperium. He betrayed Father…and by merely being unfortunate enough to be an analog of the man I would only have been a hindrance, even IF I have been declared innocent of any and all crimes my “brother” committed in this reality. No, let Rei and her sisters help sell the idea of Father actually being the Omni-messiah AND adopting new technology and techniques (almost a heresy in and of itself in this tradition bound nightmare version of MY beloved Imperium) to fight more effectively against the enemies of mankind! Why, with the ‘Nid alone I read in the Warhammer Sourcebooks we . . .er . . .liberated . . . . . Must repay Rei for spotting me in paying for all of those gamebooks we looted from that hobby store. Great Terra, I might not be right but if what I recall of the “dollar” from the American Empire being true those books must have cost a small fortune!! Ah, but anyway, the Imperium here shall have to up their game by about 500 percent at least to keep the ‘Nids at bay. Not defeat, keep at bay! Somethings got to change and that means a force multiplier and . . .basically more effective weaponry and stragety. The old ways just won’t cut it. Those personal shields alone shall make the lowly Imperial trooper’s (the bulk of the Imperial forces) life much easier, I’ll wager. Before, they’d just had a weak laz-gun (laser gun), Kevlar flak jackets and a fire in the belly to fend off the enemies of the Imperium. Minimal lethality and very high fatality rate… My analog has much to pay for that. By now we should have much more effective weaponry for the “mundane” forces than what we see here and now in the 40th millennium. Horus of this realm put a real kibosh on things with his Heresy foolishness. I do not know if I should hate his living guts for that or pity him for his foolishness, believing the lies those damn Warp Demon Gods or pity him for having been fooled. Whatever the case I surely can state without any lie at all that I do dearly HATE the consequences his Heresy had upon the Imperium of this universe. At least now that the Emperor is back amongst the living we’ll see soon some much needed changes that shall assure the survival of the Imperium and make it . . .better. At least not the horrible mockery it has become, an omni-cidal monster who’s almost as much a threat her citizens within as to her enemies without. The Emperor of THIS Imperium never wanted that and in that I agree with that sentiment whole heartedly! Glad to say that is something this Emperor shares with my Father back in my home reality! Hells! By the long term plans the Emperor of my home Imperium (the 30K Imperium) we should see the Imperium having reached heights undreamed of before in the mind, not this struggling mess we have right here and now. . . . Well, make it the top power amongst the stars of the Milky Way galaxy, anyway. I still find it somewhat befuddling to think that there are star powers out there who are looking on with alarm at the happenings within this galaxy and consider us (all of the Milky Way inhabitants, Imperium and every other star kingdom) a decided threat. Buffy had made mention about having repeatedly having to have almost divine intervention a few times there at Ideon based weaponry being brought to bear to “solve” the problem in a most final manner. Rei, for one, had turned decidedly green at the mention of Ideon and I believe I shall have to chat with her about what that might exactly mean. At the least it meant that it may have entailed the crippling of all the star empire of the Milky Way galaxy at least but . . .somehow I fear it might entail something MORE than just that, whatever the case. It rather unsettled the pale woman, if nothing else. Might be good to know more about it. Now, that all said I still am now stuck down here with Fred and the others here in the Golden Throne chamber, the most secure place on Terra. Sailor Moon is busy doing . . .whatever she needs to do magically to prepare severing the unwanted Hellmouth link between her realm and the realm of 40K. Once we get myself back to where I need to go and the others back in Sunnyvale we shall part ways. In the mean time I find myself having a rather interesting chat over tea of all things with my rather odd companions here. Just a few moments ago we’d touched (in an academic manner only) on the blasted confusing nature of all these recent supposedly divine trespasses into the mundane world! I mean it was almost as if the implications were that more than one theological enterprise/religion had at least some basis in truth and I wanted to know what THEY could tell me about it. In an academic manner of course, we do not need any theological squabbles here! Bluntly put, I was not out to turn them into atheists and I was not interested in turning religious, thank you. We’d all agreed in private (the Emperor included) to agree to disagree on the matter of religious belief. We all had our reasons to believe what we believed and didn’t need to ruffle each other’s feathers. No point, with everything going on now. Hm, just have to wonder what kind of chaos is going on out there with the Chaos Gods having gone the way of the dodo? Well, that will be for the future to find out. Maybe for somebody ELSE, even. Right now? Tea time and talk. Last question about the academic interests in theological matters had netted . . .not much in the way of a satsisfying answer. If today’s matters about apparently incompatible theological systems being true at the same time was unusual, it was business as usual for Terra Prime! In every church and temple miraculous things were at the beck and call of the clergy, seeming to give truth to their religious dogmas. So . . .one couldn’t just go to a temple or church and choose a religion just because said clergy could do actual miracles. Even the most petty of “gods” and “goddesses” out there seem to be speaking. Hells, the more secular mages could do miracles and healings so even a secular worldview. . .could be true so one can’t just discount everything else because “my” church can do miracles while “the other guy’s” church can’t! They all can. Hm, seems that religious belief isn’t based upon to little “fact”, but too much. Just might as well throw a dart at a dartboard to choose a religious belief and be done with it. Hells, I’ll just stick to my own for now and try to sort things out later. Maybe. If I feel like doing a lot of self abuse to myself sometime! So much for hoping in addition to perhaps healing a rather bruised worldview at the moment I could find something to suggest to Father that might eventually help him wiggle free of him having to play the part of a god! Ah me... But have to smile a little bit and toast Fred for one thing aside about what he believes in: his wife.
