"What's that?" Yarna said. They were in an anteroom off the throne room,
from where a glow was being cast through the door and across part of the
floor. She went to the door and saw that the petrified figure of Astra
had begun to glow with a soft yellow light.
"That is my doing," Belboz said from just behind her. "I thought that it might assist you to come to the right decision if you realised that Astra will return to flesh and blood within a minute or two. For that glow is the visible sign of my depetrification spell." Yarna looked daggers at Belboz, but it seemed that she had no choice but to accede to his terms. "Very well," she said. "I will do what you wish - whatever it might be. Now turn off that damned glow."
