Leslie Astra was a tall, beautiful woman in her early twenties. She was renowned in the Peace Corps because she always kept her hair dyed red, making a startling contrast to her almost coal-black skin. When asked why, she always said that she somehow felt that she was "meant" to be a redhead.

Not that her hair, or indeed much of her skin, was visible right now, as she was wrapped up against the cold (which, being from Africa, she felt more than most) and only her face was visible. "Hello, Josh," she said. "You're the last person I expected to see here...

  2. "What do you make of that sign?" She indicated the message that threatened that "they" planned to eat Josh.
