Stacy and Robert frantically grabbed onto whatever they could find, as the
ship began to vibrate madly. It shot upward, lurching back and forth, and
threatening to send all of them flying across the room at any moment.
Many things went through Stacy's head. She reflected on the fact that this was a little too much like Star Trek, with the ship shaking ridiculously and not a seatbelt to be found anywhere. She wondered why the ship was shaking. Was it because of the malfunctions the alien had mentioned? Or was the other ship firing at them? Or was this normal for an emergency takeoff? Stacy twisted around slightly, and managed to look out a porthole. She could see the second ship through it.
