Lord Fred Makes a Request

The Never Ending Quest - Episode 84522

Fred replied, "Sir. I do not know who you are, or what you want. But if I am being held captive, could you relay a message to the Duke of Suffex, in Allaria? Let him know that I am alive. It would set my father's mind at ease. And perhaps you could do the same for the princess."

The smooth-talking voice replied, "I do not think that your father would care much about the princess - he would be far more interested in you. And in her condition, it is quite undesirable that anything be known about her at this time. As for you, Lord Fred, your stay is likely to be short. It appears to me that you came seeking revenge upon the dragon that has been harrying Allaria. You may have some concerns about that, as the body of Belboz has disappeared. Is that not the case?"

Fred did not ask a question about what Astra's 'condition' was, and simply replied, "That was odd. Did you snatch it away?"

The voice replied, "We did."

"Why?"

"For the same reason that we wanted the book. Information. But, back to the original question. As far as the dragon goes, your people will have no more problems with it, and your father will know your fate shortly."

Fred replied, "How can you be so sure about the dragon?"

The voice replied, "You can either take my word on it, or confront the present form of the dragon. It is your choice."

Fred replied,

  1. "I need to see what you are talking about before I believe that the dragon is gone. Show me its present form."
  2. "I believe you. But I have another problem that involves a question of honour. I am obligated to protect women under my care. I failed in this task. Can I at least see the princess?"
  3. "I believe you. But I have another problem that involves a question of honour. Checkers saved my life. Can I at least see her?"
