The Never Ending Quest - Episode 84523

"Very well," the voice replied. The wall of Fred's cell appeared to grow transparent. On the far side he could see an unremarkable woman aged thirty or so pacing restlessly about a cell that seemed to be much like his own. After a few seconds, the wall returned to its normal opacity and she was lost from sight.

"That was the former dragon. She will spend the rest of her life in that form, and has no magical ability."

"I never suspected that the dragon was female."

"She - or he or it, depending on your preference - was not."

"How do I know that she was the dragon. You could have shown me anyone and claimed that he or she used to be the wyrm. I assume that the woman you showed me remembers her past history? Let me talk to her. Perhaps she will be able to tell me something that will convince me. After all, you said that I could 'confront' the former dragon if I so chose, and showing me an image hardly qualifies as confrontation."
