Novice Susan

Father Oliver is delighted to have a girl showing such devotion and immediately begins to make the arrangements with the local nunnery. Susan is quite surprised at just how swiftly things move forward.

That evening she finds herself settling in among the sisters of the convent and is having to get used to the course nature of the new habit that she is wearing. She has been allocated a very drab small cell in which to sleep, and a straw bed on which to lie. The sacrifice of the life is brought home to her as she gets up at four in the morning to pray.
