Actually, the Master hadn't been entirely silent; he'd been sort of chuckling quietly to himself in an evil sort of way, at least at first. But now he intruded himself on the conversation. "It is an entirely academic point, in any case," he said, a note of annoyance in his voice. "Need I remind you that I am the one in control here? And this is all exactly according to my plan!" He smiled triumphantly.

"Uh-huh," said Betty-2, sounding rather unimpressed. "And just what, exactly is your plan, anyway? I mean, great, wonderful, you've destroyed the Earth. Now what? I mean, what's the point? What can you possibly hope to accomplish by this? Did you do it just so you can gloat, or what?"

  1. "Primarily, yes," said the Master, and proceeded to gloat.
  2. "Oh, no," replied the Master. "This is only a tiny part of a far greater plan..."
  3. "I am growing exceedingly tired of you and your incessant prattling," said the Master, and shot her.
