"I don't exactly relish a front page story branding me as criminally
irresponsible." "Well, if you don't tell your story to me, you'll
ensure that what I already know will appear, in the next edition. But if
you'll talk to me,
then I'll try to make the story as favorable to you as I can. Plus I'll
try to hold off having it appear for a few days, to give you
a chance to try to find a cure. At the moment, nobody else in the media
seems to have got hold of it, but before long those wives are going to
make the connection and start kicking up a stink, and when they do I'll
have to publish to get
in first. And of course, if you'll talk to me I'll bring you my notes. So
